Westonwood Ranch

Westonwood Ranch is a farm-based learning day program for individuals with autism. It is the next step for young adults with autism in our community.

Our Vision:

Our Mission: The overall mission of Westonwood Ranch is to fill the gap in transition services as young adolescents enter adulthood. Its central focus is to utilize the medium of agriculture to provide meaningful pre-vocational training and social opportunities for young individuals on the autism spectrum via hands on mentoring and specific skill training in a safe, nurturing, green farm environment. Participants will be able to focus on three main vocational areas: aquaponics, animal husbandry and landscape maintenance. Additionally, they can expand their interests through participation in arts & crafts, agricultural and equestrian activities. There is also a focus on individual health and well-being which makes our program a truly unique model. Our program will establish and foster working relationships with local businesses to serve as internship sites and employment opportunities. We also plan to implement various community outreach/educational programs to promote autism inclusion in the workforce.

A unique partnership: Westonwood Ranch, Inc. is a Florida non-profit corporation in the heart of Walton County and is currently in a fiscal sponsorship with Emerald Coast Autism Center. Our unique team is comprised of two organizations with similar missions improving the lives of individuals on the autism spectrum.

Project Overview: We are currently raising funds for Westonwood Ranch and hope to begin construction on the facility soon! The development site is located on a 40-acre ranch in Freeport, FL. The project design includes a 4,800 sq. ft. vocational training center with a covered equine arena with stables. Additionally, a commercial aquaponic greenhouse will serve as a self-sustaining enterprise for participants.
